One week ago, Square-Enix announced a new entry into the Final Fantasy franchise. Jump magazine revealed Final Fantasy Explorers for Nintendo 3DS. This new FF game was initially announced for Japan, but this week Final Fantasy Explorers trademark has been filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office and Europe’s Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market by Square Enix Holdings Co, Ltd.

Final Fantasy Explorers is a multiplayer-focused 3DS title that will let you select from multiple Jobs, each with their own role. According to the magazine, many Jobs from the Final Fantasy series will be present in the game and it will have a large variety of weapons to choose. Apparently, the goal of the campaign mode is to combat against classic Final Fantasy monsters and defeat the different generations of Summons in order to collect Crystals.

Final Fantasy Explorers seems to follow a quest-driven structure similar to Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Monster Hunter series.
