Supposed to be a cutting edge console, the specs seem rather poor. Considering once the console is realised, thats it for 7 years you’d think it would be the latest and greatest.

Xbox is coming out with a 16 core CPU, which i’d think would last 7 years at least. I think i already know what im going to getting. PS4 is loosing before its released.

Sorry to sound like jerk and being mean but the specs for PS4 codename Orbis is powerful then anything you’ll see from other console’s. I know so much info about what Sony is planing then any rumor going around show or talking about specs.

Specs are greater & console will first have fully back-way play for all PS1, PS2, and PS3 games, yes very true on that subject sense i work for the video game company.

detailed first specs (not final) for PS4 <– Going by that line, how can you say the PS4 is loosing? They are only beginning.

ps has always took to a new level everytime and produce something new it’s been the number one system of all time it doesn’t stop just look at what the ps3 can do you don’t have to pay for internet or anything like that sony is number one my little brother stayed in japan and overseas for years and the phones to anything that we can’t get in this country makes no point xbox will never be on the level of sony ever they can’t they don’t have the technology because that’s where this technology comes from

haha if this seems to be true, then i can say console era is pretty much over. Todays PC hardware is like 20x more powerful than this showed here. Add another 5years of technological advance, and what we have here is a fucking acient relic LOL!!

PS4 Alpha Dev-Kit Specs:

CPU:

The PS4 will include an x86 architecture AMD Fusion APU codenamed Liverpool. The CPU portion of the APU will have 2 Bulldozer Modules clocked at 3.2 GHz. The iGPU will be similar to an HD 7660D, and will work in tandem with the dedicated PS4 GPU.

GPU:

The GPU is an 800 MHz Cape Verde, comparable to an underclocked HD 7770. Once fully optimized and combined with the iGPU, the PS4 can push up to 1.8 TFLOPS of SP compute performance. That is as powerful as an HD 7850. It will play 1080p Native and 720p 3d, and feature 4x MLAA and 16x AF. The PS4 will be about 10x more powerful than the PS3, and will be able to play high quality games in full 1080p, 60 FPS, with high levels of AA and AF.

RAM/Storage/Media/Other:

The PS4 will feature 2GB Unified RAM, shared between the CPU and GPU. It will read 50GB Blu-Ray disks with a 6x player. It will also have 320GB HDD.

Predicted Price/Release Date:

The PS4 will probably come out in Quarter 4 2014, with a price of $499.

the new xbox looks just as expensive to make… so it will probably cost about the same… definitely won’t be as much of a discrepancy in the prices this time if these specs are right and unless inflation gets even insaner i couldn’t imagine either going for more than 400 for the starter versions (if they still even pull that bs this time around)
